That's why we want to remind everyone of a few helpful oral care tips to keep in mind between gulps of eggnog and tree trimming. This Christmas, remember:
- If traveling for the holidays, don't forget to pack a spare toothbrush and floss! One night without brushing is probably not the end of the world, but after indulging on holiday sweets, it could still pose some substantial damage to enamel. Also, sharing a toothbrush is never a good idea.
- Don't over-indulge in cocktails and sugary drinks. You might be saving a few calories by opting for sweet beverages instead of cookies and pies, but they can still do a number on your teeth.
- Remember your emergency contacts. A lot of facilities are closed over the holidays, so remember to have emergency numbers on hand in case an unfortunate event occurs on a holiday.
- Use time off from school or work to make an appointment for a cleaning or procedure! The holidays are the perfect time to take care of the things that get put off sometimes during the hustle and bustle of the year, including dental visits!
