- Toothbrushes cannot reach the spaces in-between teeth, and take out plaque growing there. Without flossing, this plaque can change the environment in your mouth and make it a nasty place, even prone to infection and disease! These diseases include gingivitis and periodntitis, which can lead to tooth loss.
- Plaque STINKS! Getting the plaque out by flossing keeps your breath fresher.
- It keeps your gums in tiptop shape, and makes them stronger. You undoubtedly know what it's like to floss when you haven't in a while, and your gums start bleeding (it's an early sign of gingivitis).
- You can't spell "overall" without "ORAL." Oral health bolsters overall health!
So, don't forget to pick up some floss the next time you wander down the personal hygiene section of the grocery store or general store, and of course, your dentist wants you to USE it every day, twice a day!
